The hearing of the case related to the implementation of the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry on the recovery of Baloch missing students took place in the Islamabad High Court.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani presided over the hearing, remarking, “If there is any wrongdoing, take legal action, but exceptions should not be made for any agency to take people away for years as they please and then hand them over to the Abpara police station.”
It was further stated that if the Baloch missing students are not recovered by the next hearing, orders will be issued to file cases against the Prime Minister, Interior Minister, and Defense Secretary.
During the hearing, the families of the Baloch missing students, including the petitioner imaan mazari, were present in the Islamabad High Court.
Attorney General Mansoor Usman awan appeared before the court, and Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Human Rights Minister Khalil George were also present during the hearing.
Baloch Missing Students With in one Week
The Attorney General informed the court that 22 Baloch missing students have been recovered and have reached their homes, while 28 Baloch students are still missing, with no details available due to the lack of identity cards.
If the Baloch missing students are not recovered, orders will be issued to file a case against the Prime Minister and Interior Minister – Islamabad High Court.
The Attorney General further informed the court that the Prime Minister is currently out of the country, which is why he could not appear before the court.
“I assure the court that efforts will be made to recover all missing persons. The commission’s report was presented before the federal cabinet, and a committee was formed by the federal cabinet to send recommendations regarding the actions to be taken,” said the Attorney General.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani remarked, “It is a simple matter of basic human rights. These are all missing university students; they are not Pakistani citizens? All allegations are on security agencies.”
The court stated that the report indicates that there is no law and order issue in the country.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said, “Whatever is in their hearts, they are saying it. The judge stated, ‘They are our citizens; their mothers, sisters, and brothers are crying. They come here in front of the commission from Balochistan.'”
He added, “If there is any wrongdoing, take legal action, but exceptions should not be made for any agency to take people away for years as they please and then hand them over to the Abpara police station.”
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani questioned, “Is this how things are done in a civilized society? When a missing person is recovered, he comes and says, ‘I don’t want to pursue the case.
‘ The court will not listen to stories in closed rooms, nor will I listen to anyone in a closed room; say what you have to say in open court.”
The court instructed the Interior Minister, saying, “Today is the 22nd hearing. You had to question all the agencies without exception.”
Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti, during the hearing in the Islamabad High Court, said, “The commission did not see many things. There are many examples that people have gone from here to Afghanistan.”
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani responded, “People involved in forced disappearances cases are present in your own institutions.”
He said, “There are allegations on a specific institution; they also need to investigate. The Secretary of Defense is responsible for ensuring that their institutions are not involved in such activities.”
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani questioned, “Why hasn’t any state institution been held accountable so far?”
Interior Minister Safraz Bugti stated that there are also many cases where people have died fighting with security forces.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar kayani told the Interior Minister that if the missing persons are not recovered, he will order an FIR against both him and the .
